Looking Ahead with ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Calibration Service

Hioki USA has reached the next milestone with its service facility successfully being accredited by the A2LA with the ISO/IEC 17025 Certification. This achievement allows Hioki USA to offer our customers the most elevated experience by performing high-quality accredited calibration in-house. Prior to this accreditation, Hioki USA had to rely on our facility in Japan to perform accredited calibrations. The ability to perform these calibrations here in the US will greatly benefit our customers by significantly reducing cost and downtime.

What is ISO/IEC 17025 certification, and what does laboratory accreditation mean? The certification identifies high technical competence and management system requirements that guarantee consistently accurate test results and calibrations. The certification also requires that the laboratory has both adequate instruments to perform the tests and calibrations together with the personnel with the technical competence to perform. Laboratory accreditation is the formal acknowledgment of an organization’s technical ability to perform specific types of tests or calibrations and is only given to those laboratories that can demonstrate competence in their testing and calibration.

ISO/IEC 17025 Benefits for Hioki Customers:

· Complete in-house accredited calibration service

· Chain of traceability of measurement and calibrations

· Risk mitigation by evaluating the types of uncertainty

With the extended in-house calibration laboratory, Hioki USA looks forward to demonstrating our commitment to operational efficiency and robust quality management practices by meeting the regulatory and safety requirements and satisfying the demands of our customers and authority bodies of the measurement community.
